The Algarve is made up of 16 municipalities, all of which have very much their own identity. From the West Coast moving along the region to the boarder with Spain we have listed each one for you giving a brief description but click on the links to learn more about each one and explore what they have to offer.

Praia da Amoreira

Aljezur Municipality  is located along the Western coast of the Algarve, within the Southwest Alentejo and St. Vincent Coast Nature Park: The region, mixes clifftop landscapes and sea fronts. The beach of Praia da Amoreira is within the Vincent Coast Nature Park and is at the mouth of the Aljezur River. A gem considered to be "off the beaten track"


From the North to South, from Odeceixe to Carrapateira, the municipality is a mixture of many views, marked by archaeological traces of elevated interest, museums, windmills, cultural landscapes, histo-cultural and recreational walks and BTT bike trails.

The coast is carved by nature, with a coast of 40 kilometres marked by beaches from Odeceixe, until Amado, known for its excellent surfing conditions
